Preliminary Exercise: Whos responsible for sound in film?


         In film, the Production Sound Crew is responsible for recording all sound on set during the filmmaking or television production. The production sound crew includes a production sound mixer, location sound recordist, location sound engineer, and a simply sound mixer. Editors in film also help with the sound in film as they help edit and put together the film. A famous film editor is Michael Kahn. Michael Khan has many popular films that he has edited that are very highly recognized by many in the film industry but some of his most popular are Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981), Jurassic Park (1993), and West Side Story (2021)

                 In the Exercise 1 the key concept of the lesson was for students to be able to recognize and define signs when analyzing media products for Denotative and connotative meanings. Introduction to Media Blog : Welcome to My AICE Media Studies Blog!

                        To me the importance of studying Media Studies is being able to analyze and understand the different types of media and what every media type means. In my free time I like to watch a lot of movies and TV shows, so being in Media Studies and being able to understand the different types of media could help me understand the different signs and dialogue that is being used. A favorite media product that I consume would be Netflix. Netflix has a purpose to entertain audiences of all different age groups and features all different genres. Preliminary Exercise: Camera Movement Videos

          The objective of the assignment  Activity 3: Camera Movement Video was for students to be able to demonstrate their understanding of storyboarding by applying camerawork  and camera movement techniques in a video production.  In the assignment, we had to create 6 videos that were each 3-7 seconds long that demonstrated different camera movement techniques. The 6 different camera movement techniques we chose to demonstrate were Static, Random Movement, Tracking, Tilt, Pan, Zoom in.  Me and my teammate, Summa.W, worked on completing the assignment. Summa.W filmed 3 out of the 6 videos, The ones she picked were pan, tilt, and zoom in. She completed the video using an iPhone 11.
