Preliminary Exercise: My Camera Work: Camera Angles
In this lesson the main goal was to apply the camera work techniques and create the camera shots for the main concepts of camerawork, shot size, camera angles, camera framing, and camera composition. In the assignment we had to put together a PowerPoint that was divided into four separate sections. The four sections were: Section 1: Shot Sizes, Section 2: Camera Angles, Section 3: Camera Framing, Section 4: Camera Composition. In the second section we had to take pictures that showed different Camera Angles and define their purpose. A camera angle marks the specific location at which a camera is placed to take a shot. Camera angles are important because they help enhance the narrative and overall mood of the film.
In this assignment we learned how to take pictures of different Camera Angles and be able to explain their purposes. We also were able to get a deeper understanding on why Camera angles are used and why they are important. The different Camera angles we learned about and worked on were: #1 Eye level shot, #2 Low angle shot, #3 High angle shot, #4 Hip level shot, #5 Knee level shot, #6 Ground level shot, #7 Shoulder level shot, #8 Overhead shot, #9 Aerial shot. In this assignment me (Alivia .C) and my teammate Summa. W worked on creating the PowerPoint.
