Preliminary Exercise: How does sound support film in the context of its genre?
Sound helps support film in the context of it's genre by helping immerse an audience in a unique world and also helps fully tell the story and move the storyline along. Some sounds you might hear in film is dialogue, sound effects, and also musical pieces. With dialogue there are many commonly used dialogue lines in different films. Some of the most popular being: "Don't die on me", "We've got company", "You just don't get it, do you?", and "It's not what it looks like". With dialogue lines also being commonly used among films sounds effects also are. Some popular sound effects are: Crowd sound effects, War sound effects, Scary sound effects, Door sound effects, Sci-fi sound effects, and Vehicle sound effects. These are only a few of the very popular sound effects that are out there. In my film many of the dialogue lines and sound effects that were listed will be featured in my film especially scary sound effects considering my film is a horror/thriller film.
