Preliminary Exercise: Editing Techniques

When it comes to editing techniques and sound techniques there are many different affect and popular techniques. 6 popular filming techniques are: Jump Cut, L cut, J cut, Establishing shot, Continuity editing, and Hard cut. These 6 techniques are very popular in films and can be found in many films. In the my film, I plan to use some of these popular techniques. I would use the establishing shot to show the setting of the film to set the mood. I would also use the hard cut technique to cut in between scenes. Furthermore, 2 sound techniques are Assonance and sibilance. These 2 techniques are just some of the few techniques that are popular in the film industry. Since my film is a horror/thriller film I could use the sibilance technique to show a characters emotions.
