Editing in film is the process of choosing, manipulating and arranging images and sounds in the post- production of a film. The purpose of editing is it creates audience engagement, contributes to character development, and helps the film flow smoother. The person responsible for editing the films is called the film editor. The film editor edits raw film footage for all types of projects. Film Editors edit and arrange shots in a very meaningful and tedious sequence to show the messages that are trying to be shown in the film. Film editors also collaborate with sound and sound effect editors and also cinematographers as well. This helps with making sure all communication on the film editing is clear.
