Preliminary Exercise: Introduction to storyboarding camera framing
In this lesson the goal was to be able to understand and analyze the main concepts of camera framing. In this assignment me and my team further developed a better understanding on what camera framing can do for a film and how it further develops the film. Camera framing is position and placement of objects in the frame. Camera framing helps the viewer focus on what the director wants the audience to focus on. Directors can manipulate shot sizes, composition, angles, and perspective using framing in order to improve your narrative skills. During this assignment we were told to plan and create a storyboard using the knowledge that we already know.
In this assignment we learned to understand media languages from different viewpoints. We also further got a better understanding on how camera framing is used to show important objects or details in the film. At the end of the assignment my team was able to properly explain and identify the following camera framing shots which are: One/Single Shot#1, Two Shot #2, Three Shot #3, Four Shot #4, Crowd Shot #5, Point of View #6, Over the shoulder Shot #7, Insert Shot #8. On this assignment 3 students worked on creating it. Summa. W, Aleymar. N, and me (Alivia. C).
