Research: Exercise 3: Costume

The objective of this assignment was to work in groups of (2 or 3) to analyze the elements of setting, acting, costumes, hair, and makeup and did they support the genre of a film opening of their choice. Costumes are clothing that is used to portray a character's personality and stance in a film. Costumes are important in film because a character's personality can be expressed to the viewer through a character's costume, which also helps actors in creating new and convincing personalities for the screen. Costumes help show who the protagonist and the antagonist in the film might be. It helps the audience get a better understanding of the characters and the plot of the film.

In this assignment I learned that costumes have big role in a film and without it the film would lose its creativity and the audience wouldn't be as engaged as they could be. The goal of the exercise was to understand and show that we understood the elements of Mise en Scene and could show that we did understand how Mise en Scene works. My team applying Mise en Scene to the opening clip of a film helped us get a better understanding of the film and also how the use of costumes play a big role in creating a film. On this assignment 3 students worked on creating it. Summa. W, Aleymar. N, and me (Alivia. C).
